Five Days With Rob Burman
Spend five hands-on days learning foam latex prosthetics directly from legendary special makeup effects artist Rob Burman. This isn't a demonstration-only class. You'll work through the process yourself, learning the techniques and workflow Rob has developed through decades of professional makeup effects work. Professional techniques, troubleshooting, and tips throughout the entire process.

What's Included
Everything needed to complete the workshop will be provided. You don't need to show up with an FX shop in your suitcase.
Your Student Kit
Each student will receive their own personal kit for use during the workshop:
- • Sculpting tool kit
- • Makeup brush set
- • Sculpting clay
- • Personal working supplies
Materials Provided
All raw consumables and chemical supplies included:
- • Alginate & Plaster bandages
- • Ultracal 30 or appropriate substitute
- • Burlap & mold-making supplies
- • Foam latex materials & Mold release
- • Prosthetic adhesives & mixing supplies
- • Makeup, painting materials, & brushes
- • Workshop consumables
Classroom Equipment
Shared tools and equipment throughout the workshop:
All heavy shop gear, ovens, lab equipment, and specialized machinery required for processing foam latex and mold creation are fully accessible on site.
Workshop Schedule
Monday, March 8 – Friday, March 12, 2027
9:00 AM – approximately 5:00 PM
Because this is a hands-on working class, our actual end time may vary from day to day. Depending on that day's workload and where we are in the process, we may finish a little before or after 5:00 PM.
Meals & Refreshments
• Light morning snacks will be provided.
• Students will be responsible for lunch and other meals
