Workshop Guidelines
We want everyone to get as much as possible out of the five days with Rob. This is a hands-on working class, so please review the following guidelines before attending.
Age Requirement
Students must be 17 years of age or older to attend the workshop.
Class Hours
The workshop runs March 8–12, 2027, from approximately 9:00 AM–5:00 PM each day.
Because we're working through a real prosthetic fabrication process, some days may finish earlier or run later depending on the workload and progress of the class. Please plan your schedule accordingly.
Attendance & Punctuality
Please arrive on time and plan to attend all five days. Each day's work builds on the previous day, and missed instruction may be difficult to make up.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. You'll be working with clay, plaster, foam latex, adhesives, paints, and other materials throughout the week.
An apron will be provided as part of your student kit.
Safety
Some workshop processes involve tools, chemicals, adhesives, solvents, heated equipment, and other professional special-effects materials.
Students must follow all safety instructions provided by Rob, IcemanCast FX, and the venue. Required protective equipment must be worn when instructed.
Please let us know before class if you have any allergies or sensitivities to latex, adhesives, solvents, makeup products, or other materials that may be relevant to participating safely.
Workspace & Cleanup
Each student will have a workspace for the workshop. Please keep your area reasonably organized and help with cleanup as needed throughout the week.
Tools & Materials
Your student kit, workshop materials, and shared equipment are included with tuition. Please take care of shared tools and return them to their proper location after use.
You're welcome to bring personal sculpting or makeup tools you enjoy working with, but they are not required unless we notify you otherwise before the workshop.
Photography & Video
Personal photos and short video clips are welcome unless Rob asks otherwise during a particular demonstration or process.
Please be respectful when photographing or recording Rob and other students. Do not record full demonstrations, instruction, or substantial portions of the class without permission.
Respect the Room
This is a small workshop with students of different experience levels. Be respectful of Rob, your fellow students, their work, and their workspace.
Questions are encouraged. That's why we're keeping the class small.
Guests
The workshop is limited to registered students. Guests, friends, and family members may not remain in the classroom during instruction without prior approval.
Food & Drinks
Light morning snacks will be provided.
Students are responsible for lunch and other meals. Additional information about nearby restaurants and meal breaks will be provided before the workshop.
Venue
The workshop will be held in the The Rock House at The Whitley Event Center in San Antonio, Texas. Students are expected to follow all venue rules while on the property.
Most importantly
Come ready to work, ask questions, experiment, and learn.
This is five days of hands-on time with Rob, and we want everyone to leave having gotten as much from that experience as possible.
